The two Councilors who represented voters are exempt from this blast.
The rest of you (Mayor Drinkwine, McElroy, Metcalf, Dolezal & Blevens) chose the opinions of a violent hate group over our community. One of you dismissed a parent’s concerns about racism in schools to the parent who told you it was happening. All of you sided with a non-resident member of the Proud Boys a known hate group, to oppose inclusion, equity, and diversity. Blevens’ public comments reflect exactly who you are. When a Twitter post highlighted the trauma of Native children being forced into assimilation boarding schools, Blevens mocked it, saying: ‘Sorry for you to have to endure living in the greatest nation in the world. Luckily the democrats asses you kiss are destroying our country so we’ll be back to spears and loin clothes soon enough. Every nation on earth has tragedies. What hell have you been through.’
He fat-shamed women too and made vulgar comments about keeping their “clams closed.”
He rants about abortion without considering babies, children, and women are raped or need it for medical reasons; or for the pain women and families endure when God aborts their offspring through miscarriage.
In his last post about trans children, Blevens says, ‘Agreed. 40 is 40 too many. There are special Olympics for the mentally handicapped.’ Not only does this insult children, it belittles the struggles of disabled people. Blevens repeatedly spewed racist, misogynistic, and transphobic garbage. And you appointed him. You endorsed him. You called his values your values and Estacada values. These are NOT our values.
Jesus didn’t utter a single word about gay people, trans athletes, or the ultimate boogeyman, ‘diversity.’ But he had a lot to say about hypocrites.
“Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven” Matthew 7:21
But let’s be honest—you don’t care what Jesus said.
